Diary of a heart dad

My three-year-old twin boys both have heart conditions. Charlie, pictured at the top of the page, has a structural defect which required four operations within his first 15 months. Three of those operations came in a 10-day period a few weeks after he was born. He will undergo open heart surgery at some point as a full repair is carried out. Both he and George also have a separate condition which disturbs the electrical rhythm regulating the heartbeat. This blog is intended to raise awareness among family, friends, colleagues and beyond. We live in South Shields, Tyne & Wear, England.
